What's the best wireless meat thermometer you've used for low-and-slow cooks? My current probes are all over the place with temps—nothing reliable inside the smoker. I've heard Meater gets a ton of love for accuracy and app alerts, but curious about your real-world experiences (pros/cons, alternatives like ThermoWorks or ThermoPro?).

Help a newbie wanna be pitmaster out!
 
Boil water and check ur thermometer every once in a while I’ve used quite a few and tossed anything that couldn’t pass the boiling water calibration … had good luck with Walmart ones and the ink bird ones
 
What do you think of the Inkbird? Thanks for the tip about boiling water — that’s really helpful for checking accuracy. My last chuck roast ended up a bit burnt even though it only showed 165°F internally. I couldn’t believe my thermometer could be off that much, but I did buy it from Amazon, I try and stick to the brand selling it themselves, but it could be fake.

Inkbird works great for me…. 165F for most meats is over cooked in my opinion what were
You shooting for with the chuck roast as far as dish you were making and how did you cook it ?
 
I was aiming to treat it like a brisket, but planned to take it to 205 so it would pull apart.
 
I have used a lot of different brands, but keep coming back to ThermoWorks. I currently use the Signals since I'm big into Wi-Fi and remote control. So, the comment of wireless means two different things when it comes to these systems. First off would be the wireless of the base unit communicating to either the phone, remote, or the cloud with wired probs. Then you have the wireless probs. I do have a Temp Spike because they went really deep on cost for the single unit. I haven't used it yet. The LSG 42" pellet smoker comes with the FireBoard, so I look forward to testing it. It would be nice to pair their wired probs with their Pulse wireless probs and control from the FireBoard app, but they are like $150 for a single prob. Has anyone used the Pulse, and are they worth that price? The RFX is around the same price; the Meater is a little less. They both come with boosters. The Temp Spike doesn't have a booster, only Bluetooth, but it's half the cost of these others.

Boiling water and followed by ice water is my test. Water boils at 212 at sea level but decreases 2* per 1000’ of elevation climb. So check your current elevation and adjust from there. Ice water should settle at about 32* so I check both for high and low accuracy.
