I want to by a new digital thermometer. I am familiar with the Maverick ones and have Looked around Amazon for reviews. Here are my questions :

1. Is there one out there that will read from a "below zero" temp to over 500 deg?  - I am looking for wide range of use.

2. Is a budget of 50-60.00 realistic if not looking for "long range" or one that uses apps on my phone ? - want a basic/ reliable model.

3. Lastly, is there one that can "monitor" at temp alone? - I hate the fact on the ones I have currently that I have to set a high/ low setting every time I use them. I just want to monitor.

I am open to other models and types.

The ET-732 goes from 32* to 554*, and I use one in my meat fridge to monitor it at 37*--38* IT, aside from using it in my Smoker.

I don't use any of the hi--lo alarm settings or anything. All I do is monitor the temp.

Thermoworks makes thermometers that meet the range specs you are looking for. Have a look...JJ

Thanks to both of you. I looked at the Thermoworks link - exactly what I am thinking, but not so much on the oven probe stuff. I also looked t the Maverick ones , while I like them, they don't go down close to 0 dig. Not a big deal - I think the  Maverick is what zi am looking for. I already have a good "stick pen" by Fluke Instr.
