My name is Nate and I am a single dad with custody of my 2 daughters.

I love to cook and especially grill. I have always wanted to learn to smoke meat of all kinds.

My girlfriend gave me a Brinkman Smoke N' Grill for Christmas and I am very excited to begin using it.

I am planning on using it Saturday to smoke a pork tenderloing.  Does this sound like a reasonable first run?

Welcome to SMF!

Go with your gut... maybe wrap it in bacon to make up for the lack of fat... You can find a ton of good ideas for that pork loin on this site... browse around a bit... good luck and post some picks on the Maiden Smoke!

Welcome aboard!! Try the free e-course here it will really help you get started. As for that tenderloin, make sure you have a probe! Rub it down good, maybe wrap it in some bacon & take it to 165!

Good luck & welcome. What realtorterry said. Also go to the pork section, there are lots of posts on tenderloin. Let us know how it turns out & don't forget the Q-view.

First off Welcome Nate to SMF. I might say that you should smoke a butt or somethig like that to get to know your smoker first. A butt is a longer smoke but it's a good and forgiving smoke too. I just don't want you to mess up a good and expensive hunk of meat.  You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.
