Couldn't begin to list it all...let me just say that if I complained about how my life is going lately, I'd be considered an idiot......

I will say that everyone here has made this my second family/home.

people that still have warmth in their hearts and a sense of decency and common courtesy.
so much else......

As you know, my current billet is as the associate pastor of a small church here in southern Oregon. I also help with the U-Turn for Christ program which is, “is a 2-month minimum residential ministry of restoration, designated primarily for men and women struggling with the sin of addiction.” What you don’t know is that my wife and I are separated because of the same type of addiction that has plagued our own family. She left Oregon to return to St Peters, MO to help our oldest who suffers from a drug addiction. I was supposed to move back to St Peters myself but the economic downturn has precluded me from finding a suitable job back there.

That said I am thankful for the comfort provided to me by God where my family and our relationship is concerned. Our marriage is strong and my time in the military prepared us for this separation. Paul said it best in his letter to the Philippians, “Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It’s that last line that I’m truly thankful for this year.

I'm thankful for a wife who puts up with my b.s. My two best hunting buddies, my kids. So many things that one takes for granted, it's hard to nail down specifics. My mom once told me, "You will be lucky to have these 3 things at the same time. Happiness, Health and Wealth."

Were working on the wealth thing LOL, and I'm thankful for the other two.

Family
health

freedom and

Our forefathers who had "a boundless faith in God." That almost sounds strange today in a time when powerful forces are at work in our nation to strip us of every reminder that the very foundation of our nation was built upon the conviction that we are "one nation, under God."
