Thank you,Indaswamp and Daveomak, for repeatedly trying to help me out with my Masterbuilt two door gasser being too hot for my liking. It is raining today so I figured a perfect day to dig out my propane smoker that has always been on the hot side 285 and then some. I followed video on utube showing how to lower temps in Masterbuilt gasser thanks to indaswamp, and dave omak.I have to say I am very impressed by the info members are willing to give to new members,I fired up my gasser and the info on utube was right on,I was able to dial down my temps and hold at 150 deg. on low flame.Being able to dial down my temps along with my cold smoking attachment, I am in business,I wish I had found this out b4 I bought the last two smokers. How many smokers is too many?

Gwanger,

You are absolutely correct. . . . Those two guys are the greatest and a privilege to have on our sight. Always stepping up to help anyone who needs it. Lucky for us there are a lot more gals and guys on here who fit that bill as well.

I Love This Place!

You're welcome. Glad you can now use your propane smoker.
Indaswamp, celebrating the rebirth of the gasser, I dry brined a nice red river salmon fillet and cold smoked it on the gasser, with cold smoke attachment, using chips was cumbersome so I switched to course sawdust and maintained smoke for eight hrs. best lox I have made. Should be a big hit on Easter morning with bakery bagels and cream cheese. Thnx for all your help

Al I had problems with my gasser not beeing able to hold temps lower than 250* and 280* even using needle valve on regulator, Indaswamp and Dave steered me to youtube video showing how to hold lower temps on mgs since then I am back in business again I used cold smoking attachment to make lox for Easter turned out really well and then coated the salmon fillet with real Vermont maple syrup. I am sure to get an attaboy tomorrow from my 90 yr. old mother. Have a nice Easter all.
