Yes.  Happens more if you use water in your water pan.  Assuming it isn't kinked, put it in the oven and dry it out, then shrink wrap the connection of the probe and the lead wire.  It should work fine.  I've got one that is just over a year old that starting to act up and I dry smoke.  I have backups for that reason.
