Tel-tru worth the price? Any other suggestions?

I'm picking up my news smoker in about 2 weeks. I'm spending $1500 on a smoker and I want quality thermos on it. I will be purchasing a maverick later but want some analogue thermos also. I like tru-tel's but having a hard time swallowing the $80 it's gonna be for 2 thermos. Are they worth it? Any other suggestions?

Thermapen, $96.00 each or 2 for $85. I know, it's a lot for a thermometer but worth every dollar.

I can't tell you how much I have spent and wasted on cheaper one's. I won't even let the wife touch it, if she wants to use it I told her to buy her own!
