So basically this game is kinda like a combo of beer pong and horseshoes? I'm guessing from the apparatus that you put the boards a certain distance apart and toss the beanbags at the hole?

I see and hear about this game everywhere, but I'll admit to never having seen it played. Anyone wanna fill me in on the rules? There must be more to it than just chucking a bean bag at a hole in a board.

That's very nice of you to make gifts for your children. More people should do that, including me. That's pretty impressive about the young one making the bags! Did you guys use beans or corn?
Actually we used lentils! Yeah my 7 year old is really crafty. My fiancee taught him how to use the sewing machine last Christmas to make some gifts for his grandmas. So this was a good project for him to help with. He also helped me cut them out. Both the boys are going to paint them.

You can check out the official rules of the game at the American Cornhole Association.

The basics are..... boards are set up 27' from each other, measuring from the bottom ends of the boards. The game is played to 21 points. Bag in the hole is 3 points and bag on the board is 1 point.

You all are KILLING me here!  lol.... It's not plastic ball hole, it's not lentil hole.... It's CORN hole.

Thank you!! I realized my question sounded a little like I was bashing the game. Didn't mean it that way, honestly just didn't understand how it worked.

Fun tailgate game. I have a cornhole charity tourney coming up in a couple weeks. 44 teams last year and we took 2nd...got whooped in the finals!

You're welcome! I didn't read it that way at all.

Nice job in that tourney! You guys must be great players to end up in the finals. Good luck, hope you can win it this year!

Not great players but great drinkers. Most teams couldn't throw straight after a few beers...

hahaha.... well, I think for safety reasons it's in the rules that all players must stay hydrated during play. I can't throw straight with no beers..... very inconsistent as of now, but only played a few times. Need to figure out which pitching technique works best for me and stick with it. Seen a few championship games on YouTube while looking at ideas on the build. Those guys/gals are really good and make the game look easy.

I've not come across this game, is the idea to throw the cornbags into the hole?  Are there any rules?

Gary

sorry didn't read page 2

I have a set we bring camping with us but we use washer instead of bean bags. We just call it washers. The more you drink the more fun it gets. I have seen games get up to a 100$ pot

Bear the answer to your question is no Indiana never beat Penn State in football. I am actually a Notre Dame fan, but had to do the trivia. Now for pro football its all about the Steelers. And yes that game is down south, but they use washers instead of bean bags.

Excuse me for not being perfect about washers, just making a statement we have something down here as I guess I need to be more specific.....Craig

it wasn't personal Craig....just splaining to others that the boards were different to that of corn hole for those that don't know the games..
