Ordered a hank of 32/35 hog casings from Syracuse Casings.

They were dropped of on my back deck late yesterday afternoon, but I didn't know they'd been delivered until this morning.

I was worried about them freezing, temps were mid-twenties.

Opened the box and they were cool but not frozen solid, still pliable probably because of the salt. Card in the box said DO NOT FREEZE.

Emailed my concerns and they answered in about an hour, and assured me they'd be fine, but if not, give them a call....

Love their casings and the customer service.

I bought some 32mm hog last year . They showed up on a 100 degree day , and sat in the mailbox for hours . Not to mention time in the truck itself . Temp inside the mailbox was 123 degrees .
First casing I pulled out was weird , so I sent them a picture and told them about the temps .
First thing the next morning Pete calls me on the phone . Tells me that it was a wrong casing mixed in with the right ones , but he was sending out a new hank anyway .

Long story short , I told him to let me get into the rest and I would let him know .
Most of them are great . There were more in the middle that looked like they had not been cleaned / stripped .
I've tossed enough now that I'll let him know when I get more , just to let him know . I'm sure he'll make an adjustment , but I'm not looking for one .

Recently bought some 22mm sheep casings from him , and they're fantastic .
I think the heat got to the hog casing .

The casings are fine since they weren't frozen solid and were still pliable. The salt likely helped prevent them from freezing completely. It's great that Syracuse Casings responded quickly and reassured you.

I just ordered a hank of sheep casings from them last Thursday. Do you know if they provide you with a shipping confirmation? I have an order confirmation. They ask not to contact them about shipping status until after 5 business days pass. If they have shipped I just want to keep an eye out for them.

Mine have always been shipped by USPS and many times the tracking number went into my spam. If you don’t get it in a day or two I’d call them.

Once I get a order confirmation they usually show up within 4-6 days.
