I was looking for something different from all the sauces I tried so far.  Got this recipe from a friend at work.  This is his families favorite.

Sweet and Savory Sauce

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 bunches green onion, chopped

2 cups chopped white onions

8 large garlic cloves, chopped

2 cups (packed) brown sugar

1 cup ketchup

1 cup tomato paste (about 9 oz)

1 cup Dijon mustard

1 cup water

1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup apple juice

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1 large dried ancho chili, stemmed and seeded, cut into small pieces

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1-1/2 cups bourbon

Heat oil in large pot over medium low heat - add onions and garlic and sauté for about 15 minutes. Mix in the remaining ingredients - adding bourbon last. Simmer for about an hour stirring occasionally.

Appreciate the recipe! Thumbs up

It sounds real good. I copied & printed it for later use. Thank-you.
