Whats up smokers?

Been grilling for decades, but wife got me a CG Smokin' Champ (and a Meater) as early XMas present - very excited!
I haven't even seasoned the SG yet!

From what I've been reading already these SGs both leak heat alot and have airflow problems?

Tomorrow I'll pickup some London Broil, a charcoal basket and more lump mesquite, and hopefully it doesn't turn out too horrible.
