I haven't eaten or cooked a steak in a while, and finally the weatherman said it wasn't going to rain. Big thick strips on sale at the local Harris Teeter so off we go.

Reverse sear after spending some time in the pellet pooper. Straight cherry pellets to an IT of about 115ish. Already had the CI griddle out so I tossed it on the gasser in the interest of time. Quite the large strip at 2" thick she weighed 1.58 lbs. Nothing but salt and fresh ground peppercorn melange.

I had a big pile of mushrooms that I completely forgot to cook after a long day of overindulgence at a few local breweries.... so I nuked a can of beans to go with the corn. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before the slice and then we dug in. Thanks for looking, and happy Monday!

Looks really good!
Thank you!

This steak looks great! Nicely done!
Thank you, it was quite tasty.

That is perfection.
I don't know about perfection, but can't deny it was darn tasty. Steak sammiches either for supper today or breakfast tomorrow morning.

My kind of grub for sure. Nice work all around
Thanks! I was dying for a good steak!

Steak looks great! The bottle opener is pretty cool too :emoji_wink:
Thanks! That bottle opener has history... it's almost 20 years old and shows very little wear after being used that long. It's a quality product from a not so quality person.... long story!

Beautifully done! I've really grown to enjoy a good strip steak.
Thanks! I'm a ribeye guy, but I do enjoy my strips.

Thanks! It's just about the only way I do them anymore. Sometimes I'll do the SV, but the pellet pooper does impart a nice smoky flavor believe it or not.

Nicely done Chris. That plate looks perfect!!!

Point for sure
Chris
