That looks awesome! I did something similar last weekend, but instead of the usual sides, I made a miso-glazed eggplant inspired by a dish I had at a Bangkok Japanese restaurant. It added a nice umami kick alongside the smoked meat. The balance of sweet and savory from the miso and a hint of charred edges really worked well. Next time, I might try incorporating it into a smoked dish directly.
