Ok strangest thing you have made and eaten at least twice.
Mine would probably be ramen noodles with about one small packet of mayo and one small packet of mustard along with the spice pack. and drained of all water before you put the spices in.......it sounds crazy but I can get ramen to taste almost like tamales also....more to them then just water and spice packet tho...my kids luv it when I make it..lol..slim jims,doritos,ect....all work well in ramen even a dropped egg in the boiling water when cooking the noodles...sorry I gotta go and make some now.

Rocky Mountain Oysters, Calf Fries, Bull Testicles...call them what you will, I call them delicious.

I also grew up in a small Iowa farming community, and my Grandpa butchered cattle for us from his farm...ain't nothing like a cow tongue sandwich!

I do love Limburger cheese but I used to get brick cheese that was aged in a cave, it smelled like a diaper pail but was soooo good, but more than a couple slices at a time would give you a gut ache, I swear you could squeeze ammonia out of it. The store got taken down for an on ramp

Live eels while deployed to Korea. Little ones, about 4-6 inches long. Did not really taste them as you swallowed them whole.

Sounds like prison chow. Check out this link on Ramen and prison food.

Mine isn't so much strange as it is something most people turn their nose up at. I take a can of Vienna Sausages, slice them in half (the long way) and pan fry them. Put on some white bread with a slice of chesse. Mmmm good. If I'm feeling really wacky I'll put some Nacho Cheese Doritos on there for some crunch.

My mom likes to tell the story about how when she was a kid they were so poor that my grandma could make sandwiches for 5 kids out of one can of Vienna Sausages. Must be where I acquired the taste. Mom always had a couple of cans of those in the cupboard growing up.

Mind you this is still weird to me after nearly 50 years but this all started when as kid my mom would make me lunch everyday. Yeah believe it or not we used to walk home at lunchtime, watch Hazel on TV and eat soup or sandwhiches. This one time all we had was peanut butter... no jelly. So mom put miracle whip on it instead. Back then I would try anything and happened to like it. In honor of that childhood favorite I do have that sandwhich about once a year while no one in my household knows about it. However it brings back memories and satifies the "comfort food" cravings.

BTW - I am now a Peter Pan Honey Roasted Creamy fan... no chunky please.

Mine not as unusaul as well,But try a peanut butter, pepper chesse and turkey sandwhich....Good stuff!!

Muskrat shanks in redeye gravy. It was so good that I ate so much I got a belly ache.....The guy wouldn't give me the recipe!!!!!

Also BBQ'd Beaver and Raccoon. Snappin turtle, mmmmmmmm. Possum was good but a little greasy. Plus god only knows what else from my taxidermist buddy?????

Now I have eaten many of these strange things that all of you have mentioned from Rattlesnake, to warthog which is very good, I have never done the mountain oysters, I like cow tongue, and never prison food maybe jail food but no muskrat either. The strangest thing I have ever eaten (only alittlebit) was manudo the mexicain dish with everything you don't use on a pig. It was good in the beginning but when I looked at the soup and it looked back (yes an eyeball) I was done and I haven't had it since.

So it was 2 days till payday, I was a single college aged bachelor (not going to school), was flat broke, OUT of ramen, OUT of potatos, only things in the house were condiment, a bag of popcorn seeds, and a loaf of white bread. (aaahh... those where the days....

)

So dinner consisted of 4 miracle whip & tabasco sauce sandwiches, popped up some popcorn in veg oil. (didn't have any butter in the house). I still occasionaly make the sandwich when kids and wife are out of town.... lol.

Vienna Salad Sandwich, take those little Vienna sausages you get in a can for about .50, throw them in a bowl, add some mayo and mustard toss on some bread and viola. Good quick snack!

I have had tripe soup once which by the way I will not eat again!

On another note I grew up in pork country in Iowa and my uncle was a pig farmer among other things. If you had seen those animals and how they enjoyed themselves... you'd think twice about eating meat from them. But oh they are tasty critters and very versatile.

Armadillo! I would catch ,dispatch , clean and the little buggers all the time. A good meal on a survival trip. There's a trick to getting them out of thier hole though. It all involves a little stick

.
