Hello all,

I have a question for any of you MES 30 or 40 owners out there. I have a MES 30 digital and I've kept it on my back deck through the summer and fall months and have used it from time to time. I have a slip on cover for it and I keep it on when not in use solely as a dust cover. My back deck is open sided but has a roof so it's not like it sits directly in the weather. My question is... should I bring it in and store it inside now that winter is fast approaching or is it OK to keep out on the deck with it's slip cover on it? My gut tells me to bring it in because I don't think that digital displays take cold temps very well. I can always take it back out on the deck if I wanna smoke something when it's really cold out  in January or February. The low temps in my neck of the woods can get to -20 but that's extreme... usually the nighttime lows range from single digits or low teens to daytime highs of high teens to upper 20's by mid winter with a few 30+ days thrown in. Any thoughts or feedback on this? I never worried about my Brinkmann electric, I keep it in the garage ( which is not heated) and just plug it in when I wanna use it because it has no digital control. It has a heating element that gets hot and reaches a certain temp, so it's just a plug and play.

I keep my mes in the basement. Electronics and weather dont like each other.

Keep mine in the garage. When i left it outside in the winter it got condensation on the burner and kept tripping. That was with a cover on it and a roof over it. Once it was put in the garage I haven't had that problem again.
