Stabilize temps in my El Cheapo vertical electric smoker

Hi Used my Master Forge Vertical Electric Smoker(see avatar) about a dozen times. Smoker temps for the most part were all over the place.Here is what I did, to get the temps to stablize.

1.Used sand in the water pan. Temp stabilized  some what better.

2.Placed 2 regular red  house bricks between the elements.

Looks like that did the trick. Just did a 19 hr over night smoke and the temps were pretty much stable thru out.

If you are having trouble with the temps give it a try.
