yeah I liked mine cooked also, I think that guy is just a nut looking for some youtube time.

A bud and co-worker harvested a few on the boat shop property, and I injected them with some butter, whatsishere sauce, and Apple juice.

Cooked them bare to about 165* IT and wrapped them in foil.

Truth be told; We ran short of time, (Work day 1/2 hour lunch).

The flavor was fantastic but they could have used another hour in the foil.

Definitely NOT to tough to eat.

Never tried it raw nor would I but it was great rolled in flour and pan fried. As I recall, it is or was pretty common in your neck of the woods.
Yes,it is/was.Unfortunately,I'm afraid it is a dying tradition. You know, acorn fed tree rats are tasty, but them uppity city folk frown upon such a thing.
We have regular, black and fox squirrels around here.Never eaten fox squirrel...

Well I guess you could say to each his own but not for me. Haven't eaten squirrel in many years now one whom must be obeyed don't go for that type eating. I do attend a annual wild life dinner at the American legion where there is all kinds of wild game.
