The day was growing long and I had no plans.. Ran up to the store and bought two hens to prepare for dinner.  I had no Idea what I was going to do with them at the time, but I figured I'de get them in a brine while I figured it out.

I had been seeing a lot of things on the spit lately and it dawned on me that I haven't had the rotisserie on the UDS in quite some time. So I bolted her up and prepared the spit.

Got the birds out of the bath, gave em a good rinse and scrambled for a rub. I had some McCormick brown sugar bourbon seasoning just for such occasions.

In to the UDS over some oak splits for a caveman cook. I seasoned them on the spit as I was running short of time..

The Q-view is sub par but I wasn't really trying to showcase a meal at the time..

The birds were fall off the bone a super moist.

We gobbled one down and I have the other to tear apart to use in other dishes.

If you don't have a rotisserie on your UDS, you need one..

Tasty looking birds,I'll have to spin one soon!
Wow. They look amazing. Great cook

Great color, nice cook!
Thanks all.. They were delicious..

I had spent too much time around the fire so they tasted sooty for me. Everyone else disagreed. I know better than to do that, but it's hard not to stare at a fire, drink a few beers and watch chickens roast..

Nice spin!   ... just a reminder Brian put up a rotisserie section to post anything and all rotisserie.  The more we use it the  better so it stays a category

Yeah, sorta forgot it was there. I wish it wasn't buried in the "Build" section.

I like seeing the UDS used for a wood fire spin, we called ours a bird barrel before transforming it into the 007.
I've used mine for everything except cold smoking. I may be building a new one this winter as this one is full of holes..
