That is a Bluebonnet, the State Flower of Texas.

I took that one yesterday right outside my office
 
I thought so. Years ago hubby went to Texas on a couple of business trips and brought home packages of bluebonnet seeds. Not a single one sprouted. I was not a happy camper.
 
Here is a couple more for ya Dawn, Bluebonnets are very picky about rain and sunshine, too much or to little of either and they will not grow.
