Your title, Morning Bear Bait, made me think you had another Bear coming around your house. I'm getting ready to unintentionally set out Bear Bait myself. We are wrapping up construction on our Chicken Coop and Run. Trying to use the heaviest gauge fencing and construction we can afford. It's unfortunate but a hungry Bear hell bent on a Chicken dinner can go through just about any barrier. My neighbor just had the back wall of his new camper torn open his past week. Sucker tore through aluminum, fiber glass and wood like tearing open a bag of Tater Chips...JJ

Interesting I've never heard of it before, it must be a local product. I'll google it when I'm more awake, it was a long smokey night last night.
Thanks.
Dan

These other Guys got you covered pretty good on their descriptions:
Yes it's Local, and I live in the perfect area for 3 of my favorite Sammies:
#1. The Cheesesteak, originated in Philly, 40 miles from my Birthplace (Quakertown, PA).
#2. The Weber originated in my Birthplace of Quakertown, PA.
#3. And Pork Roll originated in Trenton, NJ, which is also about 40 miles from my Birthplace (Quakertown, PA).

Bear

Bear that looks real good.

I made pork roll 1 time.

Thank You Sir!!
Yeah, I guess they don't have a lot of Pork Roll down there, but you make up for it with a lot of stuff we don't have.
And Thanks for the Like.

Yeah, They can be a Royal Pain in the Butt.
So far the closest they've come to our house is about a half mile. I think maybe my Big Bear Carvings keep them at bay. LOL
Actually, in the old days the name "Macungie" was some Indian talk that means "The place where Bears come to Eat". Hoping today's Young Bears don't find that out.
I wouldn't want then around here, like my Buddy has at his permanent Cabin Home, near Coudersport, where he often has a half dozen right outside the Cabin.

Coudersport is about 40 minutes from me and near where my neighbors trailer got broken into. Makes sense when you say your buddy talks about his frequent sightings...JJ

Thanks Jimmy!!
Here is the thread I did a couple years ago about Barry's Potter County Cabin & the Bears around at that time. I searched it out & found all the Pics were gone (From the Forum platform changeover), so I found them all & reinstalled them again:

Thanks John, those pics and the cabin are amazing. So far we have only had one visitor , late at night. I imagine the 2 Beagles and the Pit/Boxer are enough to keep neighbors on the mountain, during the day. We will see after the Chicken Buffet goes out...JJ

Good luck with the Chickens, Jimmy!
The Bears at Barry's are too friendly.
He works with the Ranger there in trapping & treating any that get sick. Some had the mange a year or 2 ago. He has already been working on his roof, and a couple Bears were walking around the bottom of the ladder.
The one time his dog was acting funny in the living room, so he crawled under the cabin through the crawl space & found a Coyote had a litter of Pups under there.

Another time his Dad was up there visiting, and they heard a noise at the back door, so he looked through the Peep hole & told his Dad to turn the back porch light on. His Dad said, "It is on". Uh Oh---The Bear was up against the door, blocking the Peep hole.
