I've been down for 6 weeks with a twisted ankle that happened at work. I was released to full duty on Friday.

I'm smoking a rack of baby back ribs for my neighbor and his wife. He came over and installed some parts on the Z06 after 4th of July weekend. He wouldn't take my money but he asked I bring over some smoked meat the next time I fired up the smoker. So tonight, I am honoring that request in gratitude.

I have a rack of spares on as well for myself.

Memphis Dust modified rub as usual
Hickory wood

I like your selection of meats, wood and rub! However, I never had luck with those R2D2 smokers. What temperature did you hold it at and how long did it take to smoke?

She holds steady at 225-235° F usually.

A little warmer today because I have both racks on the top grate, so it's about 250° F which is fine.

The Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker has a small learning curve with temp control but it has put out some fine smoked meat the past 7 years that I've had it.

Not the best effort but not the worst either. The ends on the baby backs were overcooked but the rest was delicious. I'll chalk it up to being a little rusty.
