Hello SMF
My name is Dan, I'm 43 yr old from Tinley Park, small town south of Chicago. Married with one dependent.
I got started trying to make real BBQ about two years ago after having some great ribs at a friends.
It wasn't just the taste I loved, it was all the preparation and dedication it takes to cook real BBQ.
My cook and recipes are not original ideas by no means but, I take the advise and knowledge that is already out there, tweak it to my liking and create a decent product.
The info already out there about BBQ and how to create it gives us a tremendous advantage to advance our hobby a much faster rate then before the information age.
Once I got my cook down rite and my wife said, "we are never eating ribs out again!" I was hooked on BBQ .
She is MAD that she spent money all these years to be fed average ribs at restaurants.
I also try my hand at other meats
My favorites are fresh polish sausage, ham, turkey, butt
That's my BBQ story up to now.
I use two Brinkmann propane smokers, they are cheaply made but work great in warm weather.
My dream smoker as of today would be a Stumps Gravity Feed
I look forward to learning a lot hanging here with you all and sharing our BBQ experience
Dan
