I'm in Raleigh, NC. I'm relatively new to smoking. I was pretty handy with my trusty Weber until my wife and I decided to sell the house and buy a condo. Local fire-code outlaws any device with an open flame in condos. So, I had to get an electric grill or an electric smoker. I opted to go with the MES after reading that electric grills don't get hot enough. So far, I've smoked some wings, a butt, mac & cheese, and, of course, some baby backs.
