You are an evil, twisted man,

Bill!! Besides, I wouldn't know if your brisket is ugly or not-you didn't post a picture of it

Yeah, yeah I've been told I needed to fire the smoker up more, but hey, it was crappy weather when momma bird started building her nest in the GOSM!!

It will be interesting to watch them baby birds develope, I'd like to see how they get out through the top vent when it comes time for flying lessons. I'd open the door for them, but then the dogs and/or grandkid would try to get to those babies.

Here's hoping your weekend brisket turns out as great as mine do! Enjoy!

Well Dutch, how is that having a bird family living in your smoker thing working out for you - I mean as far as getting another smoker...?

You have an ace in the hole there bud!

Trust me, I've been working every angle that I can think of-even went so far as to take Ma to Lowe's to show her the Char-griller Smokin' Pro that would look right handsome next to the GOSM. I even showed her my stacks of cherry and pecan wood that the Smokin' Pro would use. My ace is she's hinting for some ribs for Sunday dinner (she knows I can do them in the oven), but I'm holding out by telling her that it will be to dang hot to be cooking anything in the house.

She want ribs-I need a smoker; we'll see what happens!

hey Dutch had the same problem goin on here but got it before it layed plus it was a cackly ole blackbird..gave me a reason to wash and paint the firebox though.....

can i @ least get credit for finding the eggs & bird..... lol i haven't found a recipe yet but scrambled w/ bacon, garlic fried taters-skin on of course, & smoked chedder over a tortilla( we call that a taco)& a fine chunky salsa works around here......

Good luck!

BTW, you can't go wrong with the CG Smokin' Pro. It is a really nice unit for the money, and virtually bird-proof (if you USE it enough, of course...)

Well, the embarrassing thing is that I have one of those, all folded up nice and neat and on the shelf in the shed.

Thanks gypsyseagod, that sure looks like the eggs that have now hatched out. My question is "What is an Eastern Bluebird doing in Utah?" and I don't want to see "Just passing through" for an answer. I'll have to take some pixs of the baby birds even if it's just for the "ahh" factor.

i have arecipe for potato patties, bacon @ 450 for 30 mins, add eggs, shredded cheddar,salsa.. oops i'm going to die as it is - but i did that exaustive search for 120 mins to find those eggs.. dutch- love the chickies & do ya want to adopt kittens as well ( notice pics of my new pit the kittens are fascinated.. no, i didn't cook them....(it was a 12 min search)

That made me spew the mtn dew right outta my nose!! Gotta say I've done that too though.

Have you seen or taken pix of the proud parents of these eggs yet? Or even a description? It would seem that there is several species that lay light blue eggs ......

Paul, momma bird is too elusive to get a pix of. I can be sitting on the patio and she'll come and go like I don't exist, but if I have the camera out and ready, she won't come around. Maybe she's a bit camera shy, with being a new mom and all~!!

I'll have to pass on the kittens, Ma Dutch is allergic to 'em and I'm afraid that Buddy the "grand-dog†(American Pit/Bull Mastiff) would eat 'em as an appetizer when he comes to visit.

Yellow beak, dark brown feathers-looks almost black. Size is between a sparrow and a robin.

Do ya suppose it tastes like.....yup chicken??!! Don't tell ma I said that I have enough lumps!!

I think your best angle is that early Fathers Day present!!! and of course the Ribs!

GL!
