The wife saw these at 5.99/lb each about 18 oz each…..

Kept these simple with some Weber steak n chop, it has a nice SPOG tone to it….

Now the smothering base….about 2 cups broth, 1 Tbsp WS, 3 Tbsp soy, 2 Tbsp Demi and 1 Tbsp sugar….

Now the goodies of the smothering….. first some pan seared roots…. Classic olive, splash of butter S&P

Next some split Bella’s, the splits were put face down to get a nice sear on them…..

I also added about a 1 Tbsp starch slurry to the base liquid then added it to the roots when they were seared up….

While the roots were searing the NY and a sliced sweet onion went in the grill…. The onions were brushed with classic olive and Weber SnC

Once the onions were nice and seared they were chopped and added to the smothering collection……

Once the NYs were mid rare they were sat on a rack to rest……

Once rested for about 10 min they were platted and “SMOTHERED” and garnished with some fresh chopped herbs……

Didn't know I was inspiring anyone when I made that comment, but yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Well done. Maybe not as pretty as a plate at a high end restaurant, but it actually has plenty of food on it. A plate to be proud of for sure, in my book!
