Smoking Beef Chuck Short Ribs?

I picked up this package of Beef Chuck Short Ribs using a $7 off reward. Going to smoke them but was wondering if I going to need to braise them or brine also to get tender?

I personally would just salt and pepper and smoke them 225-250 until tender.

With short ribs, I sort of decide on the fly about using a wrapped step. I'll watch the color, and monitor tenderness along with internal temperature. If they have good color, but need help in the tenderness department, I'll usually wrap.

I do not wrap and just cook to about 200/205 probe tender. They are hard to mess up
