We've had really mild winter this year. one day of snow in town that totaled about 6". So we've been taking advantage of this and have been camping. Our last camp we made some dutch oven texas chili, smoked ribs. We camped backed up to a lava flow that had several small caves to explore. We built a cannon and all in all had a great time. We camp in a cargo trailer that I converted into a camper. Here's a few photos and a video (if the link works).

looks like a nice time, looks like a great place for kids to explore, love the cannon, yeah your video worked

Looks like a fun time! Love the cannon, how many grains of powder? With enough powder they remove snow off tin sheds quite well

It says 20 grain maximum. I misread my measure on the shot in the video and we shot a 30 grain load...

My son was in charge of loading the next shot and caught my error. Should’ve had my reading glasses on!!!

Noticed the tent behind the converted trailer. Who sleeps there?

Camping is fun, but haven't since the kids moved on.
Wife and kids slept in our truck camper and I slept in a tent. Wife liked it, but when we stayed in a RV camp the neighbors did not appreciate my nightly serenade.

Cannons are fun.
Back in my day, we used 4f powder and less than an inch of fuse. 1-1/2"bore and a film canister scoop of powder.

That tent rig on the truck belongs to a friend. He'll be taking the tent of his truck and mounting it to a trailer. Roof top tents are on your rig is great if you don't plan on going anywhere once you get camp set up. Not so great if you want to go someplace while camp is set up.

This cannon runs 20 grains FFG. Back when I was a kid my dad and his friends (welders) welded up a bunch of cannons out of 3" and 6" pipe. They'd shoot them off on the Fourth.
