I had one for many years. Made some great butts, ribs, etc. However, the temp swing is pretty wide - around +- 25 degrees. This did not work for my sausage where I wanted to keep the temp around 150-160. It did a good job putting lots of smoke onto the product with very little wood and is well insulated. Used it with outside temps well below freezing in the winter with no issue. I suggest using a pan for the product or a pan under the product to make cleaning easier. Hope this helps.

I use one when I am being a snowbird, ST1400. Works as good as my Smokin-It #3 and Cookshack sm008. Does a great job with ribs, butts, etc. Parts are reasonably priced.

What model are you looking at? Used or new?

I have the 1460 model and it does have 30 degree temperature swings but that only effected my sausage and bologna so I purchased an Auber PID controller and that solved the problem, Now the temp stays where I set it. I cook other things on it without the PID and I like it. Usually 2 oz of wood chunk is all you need to flavor the meat. vs pan fulls of wood chips or bags of pellets . Like stated above it is very similar to Smokin-It and Cookshack and I like mine.

I have a Smokin' It Model 1, which is nearly identical to the smallest Smokin' Tex model. It's insulated great, as noted above, good in cold or windy conditions. It's quick and easy. I use it when I'm just doing a meatloaf or a couple small pork butts, and I don't want to fire up anything larger or more complicated.

Does anyone have or know of Smokin Tex Smoker. Could I get some feed back please

Thank you
There are many good smokers out there. I have a smokin tex 1400. I have had this smoker for over 12 years and it is still going strong. I absolutely love this thing. Do not hesitate to buy one. You will not be disappointed. Analog is all I have ever needed. I routinely smoke pork, brisket, chicken, and love it for wings. Turkey is always a hit. And I cannot forget prime rib. Buy one! You will love it.

So I have the smokin tex 1460 analog model and I absolutely love it. It does have a fairly large temp swing but works really well with chicken, pork, beef, fish, etc. I have yet to fire up my stick burner at all this year due to the ease of use. I never thought I would say that!
My buddy however just purchased a smokin it #3D digital wifi model and wow does it hold temp! Its basically my smoker with a built in Auber PID controller and maybe a hair bigger.
Both are insulated very well, use very little wood to make great food, and the cleanup is nothing since all of it fits in the dishwasher including the pieces that hold the racks! What a cool design!
I have never has to call smokin tex but my friend did call smokin it it due to a broken rack and they sent a new on immediately! I think both places have awesome service and stand behind these products very well.
You will not be disappointed at all!

Enjoy!!

PS: Due to his consistent temps I will be adding the Auber controller to mine soon!
