Greetings, everyone.

I've been lurking (and learning) for a while and wanted to introduce myself.

My short story: Yankee moves to Louisiana, sees friends smoking goooood grub, buys a ECB at a yardsale, gets hooked on smoking, gets a job transfer to the jungle of Sumatra, Indonesia, packs/ships a bunch of new smoking gear, and now has smoked on both sides of the planet.

My gear: MES 40 with very limited mods, AMNS 6x8, Dust (Hickory, Pecan, Apple), Hunks (Hickory, Pecan).

Where I'm at, it's very difficult to get supplies.  So I brought roughly 50lb of dust and 50lb of hardwood.  Brought a bunch of salt, spices, and Cure #1.  Let's hope I can make it last...

Didn't expect to find much pork in this Muslim country, but I made friends with a Christian guy who raises and butchers pigs (mostly for the small local expat population here).  So, surprisingly, the Sumatran jungle has give me some of the best fresh pork I've ever had.  Much smaller pigs/joints, but very tender and flavorful.  Living that morning, at my house by the evening.  Got my first whole hog coming this weekend (need some help, will post in Pork forum).

I've been focusing on butts and hams (big shout-out to Pops).

Addded a couple intro pics.  My son and I on a Thanksgiving morning smoke.  And the money shot from my Christmas Ham adventure (post to come in the Pork forum).
