Thankfully, I'm not allergic to the little b*stards (they still pick me out of a crowd), but my ex-wife was. We were traveling at the top of a mountain pass one time, and one flew into the cab of the truck and stung her in the neck. Nearest rural hospital was about 45 minutes away at the bottom of the valley. I made it in 30. But by then, her head was like a beach ball. After that, she kept an epi-pen in her purse at all times.

Hoping the best for you Norm.
I'm not clinically allergic to wasp stings, but I just swell up. No anaphylaxis reaction as in respiratory distress or hives.
Last wasp sting did sent me to the clinic after 2 days. Got stung in the eyelid region and eye swelled shut 2 days later
Right leg is a freakin club.
After a Baker Cyst rupture in the right knee, my lower leg resembled yours. The kanckle would not go down after 2 months. I finally tried Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy (LET) with massage. 2 sessions and my leg swelling went away and the knee finally started healing. Best $200 I've spent in a long time.

Saw the doc yesterday morning because now my foot and ankle have all these raw blisters, that's a new one as that never happened the last few times.

Just when the whole thumb issue was taken care of now this. Besides the usual after sting meds now I gotta take antibiotics four times a day. My foot's a mess now my stomach's a mess, wtf is next?!

Rant over.

Damn man . Hope he's got you heading in the right direction . I was washing the house today and found a huge wasp nest at the top of the gable . Grabbed the extendable pole and started to knock it down . Remembered this thread , and just left it alone for now . I've never been allergic to a sting , but wasn't willing to find out if things have changed .

Damn, hope this is it for you for a while! Friggin venom is so complex, scary! I wish you a speedy recovery! No one needs that hassle!

We have a lot of underground hornet nests around our place, and this is the best way I’ve found to take them out.

Wait till after dark and hit em with this stuff usually only once and the whole nest is shut down for good!

I use this as an applicator…

Ask your Doc for a referral to Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy (LET) practitioner. Insurance may cover it with a referral.
I was skeptical about LET until after my 2 sessions.

I have a referral for an allergist and I think that was mentioned.

We had a nest of bald faced hornets in a lilac bush in my yard.. wife and dog got stung a few times, and I got pretty pissed off. They didn't fare to well after 2 rounds of #6 bird shot out of my 12 gauge... the hornets that is.

Speaking of things that sting, just saw this beauty. Gorgeous but God help you if you get stung. Solitary Ground wasp, aka Cow Killer, Velvet Ant.
Never saw or heard of those.
We do have Cicada Killer Wasps around here. Also solitary, but they tend to nest in communities.
They look menacing, but are harmless to people. Cannot find my phone photos

Make sure it is for LET. The practitioner uses a wand (I call it the magic wand) with localized skin contact.
You don't want Lymphatic Massage therapy which is very aggressive hands on treatment that your sensitive skin could not handle based on your description of the pain and discomfort.

The goal is to get your lymphatic system working to clear the toxins and swelling

Its the left thumb but that's actually progressing quite well. The leg is now the size of a tree trunk.
Good thing it didn't get you in your pecker, the wife would never leave you alone. LOL!!!

I got hit last year working on the duck blind. 13 times. On my neck, face, head, shoulders and back. My face blew up like a blowfish the next day. And I was feeling pretty sick so I went to the ER. They gave me a few shots and told me that if I was allergic, I'd most lt be dead.
I guess head stings are the worst for people that are allergic.
No fun, I hate those little pricks.

Hopefully you're feeling better soon.
Dan.
