Got smoker broken in with first burn off and oiling. Held temp really well, just took longer to get to temp, but next time I will start with a full chimney of charcoal instead of 1/2. Used mesquite splits. I ended up throwing a couple of steaks on the firebox since the fire was looking so nice.
