Took out a few too many Tri tips last week. Cooked up four. 1 to freeze and Sous Vide, 2 to give to neighbors and one to eat at home.

Trimmed them up and seasoned

On to smoker with temps low around 200 cooked with oak wood

smoked for about 2.5 hrs until desired temp

Then seared on weber for about a min per side. Let them rest. The result were pretty darn tasty

The neighbors were pretty happy and both families said it was outstanding. Thanks for looking. I just finished eating the last slices of ours for lunch today. Yum!
 
That is a nice cook, and done perfectly! TT’s are hard to beat when cooked like that!

Nice gesture to share with your neighbors!

BTW, if your giving out TT…. Would there by chance be a house for sale on your street? 😉
 
Beautiful, TT is by far my favorite beef cut and you crushed it . . . I'm sure your "pay it forward" gesture will continue to roll strong!
 
Man those look great! I have one seasoned in the freezersoon as can walk again im gonna cook it up.

Looks fantastic! Tri tip was popping up here in Ohio at Savealot for awhile but disappeared again. I have a few in the freezer I need to do.
 
Smoked and reverse seared tri-tip is my favorite and yours look great!

I also noticed that you had a grate on wood blocks.
I was thinking that it would be a nice idea to raise the lower grate in my Lang, and take out upper grate for a small cook. So my question is, “Is the wood sitting right on the RF plate? And if so, will it catch fire?

The grates are sitting on Firebrick splits. two of them as they didnt have whole bricks at the Rockery.

I made sure to clean and season them first before using LOL

It due to design the nose end slopes down slightly more then the fire box side.

They look great! But now I'm beginning to understand why so many can't find tri tips...cuz you have them all! Lol
