Smoked a picanha over hickory this afternoon on my WSM. Took it to 125 internal and then seared on the gasser. Had some roasted brussells sprouts on the side.

I like med. rare picanha but the wife likes hers a little more done. Scored the fat cap. Sliced with the grain and seared for 1 min on each side and she was happy. Picanha is a tender juicy cut if it's not overcooked.

Thanks all. We can't afford to go to those Brazilian Churrascarias very often but you get some good value from this cut of meat.

Wow, love that Picanha. There is a new Brazilian Churrasco restaurant that just opened up nearby. I just might visit now. Wonderful....you nailed it

Make sure you're hungry when you go. Those places are usually very good with a big selection of skewered meats. Try to avoid those delicious cheesy rolls, they cut into the space that should be occupied by meat :)

Nice, Like a Tri-tip if it even a little over cooked it is tough. The one time I tried a Picanha I destroyed it bad. Yours looks great!

I’ve smoked one once, turned out ok, I think I needed more seasoning/salt. My sons soccer coach for the last four years has bought those and cuts them into steaks for team parties. Always delicious. My daughter that doesn’t like steak liked it. He’s Brazilian but I’m a smoker/griller. His was better.
Yours looks amazing
