Going to try my first Chuck roast on the smoker today it's been in the smoker for about 2 hours right now it's up to 130 it right now

Tossed a chucky in for a bath a few hrs ago. Tomorrow nights supper. Wanted to smoke but below 0° yet so didn't want to fight it. Hope it turns out good for you. "Pic's" of smoke or didn't happen...:emoji_sunglasses:

Trying to figure out how to upload a pic will get it figured out

Just checked the temperature up to 150 now after 3hours ,the Chuck is about 2.5 lbs. I have the traeger set at 225 ,it's only about 5degrees outside in Michigan today.I have a welding blanket on and seems to be helping greatly

I’d toss it in the oven after about 150 degree. I tried once to bring a 3.5 pounder up too 200 and it stalled everywhere. It was crazy. Stalled at 190 for couple hours with the smoker at 300. Preacher is a guy on this forum and he put his in the oven at 380 after about 150 degree IT. Just tossing some ideas your way

Thanks for the tip, how long would it need to be in the oven?

Thanks I just went and checked it it was at 165 ,I wrapped it at 150 ,it's been a hour in the wrap and went up 15 degrees at 225 Temp, thinking of turning it up to 250 for awhile,it's been on since noon

That’s some good progress it’s making. I may have just got a tuffy chuck

I'm thinking I have about another hour on the smoker, then letting it rest for awhile, also have some beans in a pan for a side dish, beans have been on for 2.5 hours
