Hey guys/gals, just joined this site...  Google brought me here and it looked like a perfect site for me!

I have smoked Baby Back ribs numerous times and have a very good method and ingredients that works for me...  I do however have to change my method up a bit and I am a bit nervous about it.

What I want to do is smoke the ribs at my house, then take them (at some point in the process) to a different house and finish cooking.  The other house is about 40 minutes away and does not have a smoker.

The real question is if I should finish cooking them here and then "re-heat" them in the oven, or should I just smoke them for ~5 hours here and then finish them (with sauce) in their oven?  (Perhaps even a different suggestion...)

So you know, I typically don't foil my ribs for 2 hours as I have a spray bottle with apple juice and spices that I spray on them to keep them really moist and yummy.  (Have done them this way at least 6 times, each time they turned out fantastic.)

Thanks for reading my post.

I'm still a newbie to smoking but not to cooking or transporting. If it were me, I would cook them first, take out a little sooner than normal, mop, wrap or whatever you normally do, and get them back up to temp fairly quickly on a higher heat wherever you end up going, best of luck I'm smoking my first baby backs tomorrow, I cant hardly wait, I am just about ready to smoke two or three of them, just for the practice and so i can eat two or three of them right now.

If you only have to take them 40 miles, when they are done, wrap in foil and towels and put in cooler. Should still be hot when you arrive.

If you are arriving way before serving time, leave  wrapped in foil after the 2 hours and put on grill or in oven for the last hour.
