[/IMG] I have been working on this since January. Complete cedar build using 5/8 tongue and groove, Aluminum roof And homemade fire box idea design from pizza oven directions. I was able to maintain 200° yesterday by adding one stick of pecan an hour. I look forward to learning from some of the curing and other gurus here. Although I am not new to cooking or smoking, curing is new to me. I plan to use this for homemade sausages, bacon, ribs etc. Hopefully around the holidays I can sell some smoked birds or hams also. Nice!
So, you used the wife's exercise ball as the form for the oven/firebox?
And what is the material? It doesn't look like run-of-the-mill cement, is it firebrick cement?
Yes I ordered a 85cm yoga ball for the form.
Cement mixture is 4 parts perlite : 1 part portland cement. I used a Rutland fireplace mortar for the finish on the fire box, but the finish is not holding up well, as the perlite insulated to well for it to cure.
