Hi all,
So I’ve been thinking about going electric for nothing but cold smoking.
I have a Masterbuilt 40 propane and absolutely love it. I was surfing the
web and saw a Smoke Hollow 30” electric with window at Home Depot
For 156.27 . Thoughts and input or concerns would be appreciated.
I don’t want to spend a fortune because I plan on only cold smoking
in it and need one for the ease of lower temperature setting . I want
To do things like bacon and cheese.

I had one loved it smoked a lot of meat with it good smoker for the money my control went bad and I built a big smoker and took element out and just use it to cold smoke cheese with pellet maze works great!

Why can't you Cold Smoke with your Gasser?
If it's Cold Smoking, the AMNPS should give you enough heat to avoid freezing.

Agree with Bear why can't you cold smoke in your 40" gasser. I have the same 40" now about 5 years and have done low smokes in it with no problems.

Hey Bear I was wondering if I used my gasser and left it completely
Turned off if I could just use my AMNPS tube and smoke the bacon
That way. My gasser is really touchy at low temps that’s why I’m
Looking into an electric one , kinda set and forget it.

Sure you can use your Gasser without turning it on.
The AMNPS (Tray) or AMNTS (Tube) should keep it from freezing.
I know guys put some kind of needle valve in theirs to get it lower, but I think it's hard to get it below 150°.
But Cold smoking you don't need it to run---People Smoke things in an empty cardboard box with an AMNPS inside, so just use your gasser because it already has racks built in.
