Smoke Hollow Smoker Burner Replacement?

I have a Smoke Hollow 38" vetical smoker (Model 38202G) . For years I had trouble keeping a stable temperature (usually too hot) but now it's suddenly too cool (like around 200F).

I was thinking of replacing the burner with a Bayou Classic SQ14 16-in Outdoor Patio Stove.

Thoughts?

I would first check the wiring for corroded connectors....
If all the connectors are "OK", use an ohm meter to check them... then a temp sensor may be at fault....
