I did similar but also add heavy cream.I like to mix Blue Cheese with a little cream cheese, black pepper, salt, Worcestershire sauce to taste, some shallots, butter, and garlic powder, stir it up, warm it up a bit, and spread it on the steak for the last 1-2 minutes of cooking.

Wife just loves blue cheese and had a blue cheese fondue type of thing with a dinner that had steak. I am just trying to keep momma happy. Agree (to an extent) LOL. Montreal and it's variants on steak and chops are an AUTOMATIC win with Momma and my girls. If you've never tried it you HAVE to. Overnight rest for best results.Making momma happy is most important!
