Picked up a 9.75lb brisket the other day at Costco. Trimmed off 2.2lb of fat. So starting weight is 7.55lb. It was a weird one, large flat, small point. You get whatcha get. Excited that Lanes brought back the Ancho Espresso rub. It was one I originally got from Rec Tec back in the day and loved it. Then they stopped having it. Thats when I found out Lanes makes all the Rec Tec rubs. Back like 8-10 years ago I reached out Lanes and asked if they had it and got a no.
So here we go. Starting off a little cooler than my usual 275, because its just thin and not very big.

After an hour at 220, kicked it up to the usual 275. Couple trim bits were ready at 2 hours. not bad.

Been looking for a good coffee based rub so I just ordered me some.Yay me.
Its the first rub I really fell for. When they discontinued it, I called and they sent me a sampler pack of other rubs. Good people!
I'm in and that's one of my favorites too! Love some Lane's.
I like it a lot, havent used it in forever. really love Holy Cow, but thats all ive used for years. this will be a nice change up.
