Looks like your having a great time. And your not lacking for deer.
Is that up by Slate Run Pa.?

Beautiful country up that way!
Wow that's a decent size rattler.

Have fun and keep watching for those snakes.

Beautiful looking area! I bet those deer would smoke up nice. I wonder how smoked rattler would be?

And the star of today's menu:

Brisket!

Slices

Cubes (sort of...) for burnt ends going back on the smoker

Oddly enough I was able to get just a point from my local butcher. Someone came in and just wanted a flat so they cut the flat off a packer and kept the point. The meat was almost fall apart tender at 194° hence why the cubes aren't too cube like... and I forgot my good slicing knife at home!?!?!??!

This was an interesting nature showdown on Sunday afternoon.  We threw a little bit of corn out and the deer came down to eat it, then all of a sudden she had a dinner guest that booted her out for a bit.  She just wandered over to the trees until the bear ate its fill then went back and kept right on eating.

He only stayed for a bit.

Interestingly, the skunks seemed more interested in the smoker every night than the bear?
