Hey all, made a couple flats of Shepards Pie. So, my Dad had a fall last July and suffered a brain bleed that required surgery. They were not able to get all the blood when they done the surgery and the doctor was hoping that the residual blood would reabsorb naturally. Well, that did not happen and the doc was concerned enough that he thought it best to go in and clean the blood out. So Dad had the surgery Wednesday morning. They went in down in the hip area, up thru the heart and into the brain… really blows my mind what they can do medically these days.
My Dads all time favorite meal is hands down Shepards Pie… so figured that would maybe lift his spirits a bit after the procedure.
Was a busy day Thursday, so have limited pics… but I’ll share what I have.
Boiled some cubed up Idaho russets for the topping.
Most the ingredients…
All mixed together and topped with the mashed taters and shredded Parmesan cheese.
Took one flat to my folks and they oven baked theirs. We smoked ours with pecan on the Camp Chef at 350* for an hour and fifteen minutes.
Ended up with this…
A closer look…
Was pretty tasty! Dad called and said how much he enjoyed it… and that made my day. Thanks for looking all.
