Seasoning smoker (ECB)

I'm wanting to season my ECB but I'm waiting on a water pan from Brinkmann, Do I really need the water pan to season the ECB??

When I seasoned my cooker I didn't use the water pan either.

you do not have to wait on the water pan, but if you have any doubt, just put a pot water on a rack.

NOPE! Just spray the inside of the ECB with Grilling Pam, fill the firepan and light it, and get away. Let it burn until it dies. If it does not get nice and hot you may need to open the latch on the side door, don't open the door, it usually springs out a bit when unlatched.
Put something under it, the Pam might run off a bit when it gets hot, depending on how much you spray on.
