I'm gonna humbly ask all of my friends here for some prayers. My mom had a stroke this past week. She lives in Mexico in the winter and East Glacier, Mt. in the summers. On Thurs. she suffered a pretty serious stroke. Total left sided paralysis, very affected speech and not able to swallow very well. She was in Mexico, but is now in a hospital in Chula Vista, Ca. Will be going to a rehab center soon. Mom is only 68, but smokes like a stove, and is overweight. Not sure how this will all shake out with her being so far from us, her husband is 82, and while in reasonably good health, still depended on my mom for a lot. I want to be there, but don't want to go down until I can be of some benefit to her and the situation. Tough being 1000 mi. away. They also don't have much in the way of finances, so that will be an issue I'm sure. On Fri. we learned that one of our son's (estranged son) good friends was killed in an avalanche while skiing in Glacier last week. Our youngest daughter developed kidney stones, and has spent the entire weekend passing those. She fortunately, is doing well now. So, if when it rains, it pours, we are in the middle of a monsoon. A years worth of stuff in a few days. Thanks for listening to me here.

My prayers are with you. I pray she recovers and evething turns out for you. I understand your feelings being so far away, it is tough. While I am not that far away it is tough to see my mom as much as I would like.

Best wishes,
Dennis

Wow, you sure got your hands full.

Prayers are sent.

You may be 1000 miles away but God is right there on top of things. My prayers go out for you to be strong & persevere while prayers go out for your mother to get well & your sister to be well. Our condolence's to your (estranged son's) friend. Of course my family & I did not know him but whenever we lose one, we all lose. Be strong my brother in the smoke.

It's hard being that far away but she is being taken care of. Take care of yourself to be ready when she needs you.
Thoughts and prayers heading your way.

Wow i wasn't expecting this from the title of the post, thought it would be a bad smoking experience. Hang in there it will all work its way out like life always does, just focus on the things that you can help with, not the things you cant. My thoughts are with you.

You have had a rough spell for sure I'll pray for you and your family.

Hey brother, had a pretty rough winter myself with family, so have a good sense of how you are feeling.

Prayers coming for your Mom, her husband, yourself and the rest of your family.

Keep your chin up when you must, tough as it may be sometimes to do, and let it hang low when you can...crap just catches up with you sometimes, so let it happen.

My best wishes,

Eric

Very similar situation for my family!

Though I'm not a Church Going Guy, I found a Preacher who was willing to help me through our family crisis. God truly works in very mysterious ways, and will find the best path for you and your family.

It's gonna be a "Wild Ride On The Emotional Roller Coaster", so take all the good days as Positive!!

Many people prayed for my family, and I will pray for yours!
