Anyone here roast their own coffee?
I have been doing this for several years now. I most often buy my green beans from Sweet Marias in Oakland, CA.
I am just finishing up a batch of Ethiopia Gr. 1 Dry-Process Fara Sala, it is quite amazing.
I am partial to the Ethiopia’s, especially the dry process which does taste significantly different from wet processed coffee. I like a good Guatemala too, oh, and Kenya AA... oh and ...
I roast in a modified bread maker with a heat gun, it works great and I can do a pound and a half at a time.
I recently bought a Bonavita BV1500TD 5 cup dripper machine. It is amazing, I have "officially" used it twice, and the cup keeps getting better. The machine is approved by the SCAA and I see why, it really produces a great cup of coffee.
I am going to roast today to get a supply going for the long weekend, Ethiopia I think.
Have a nice holiday and here’s to all the coffee lovers!
