Probably a stupid question but thought I would ask. Does anyone save partially burned charcoal for their next use or just let it burn out? New to charcoal (and cheap) so thought I would ask. If you save it, how do you extinguish it.

I reuse it all the time.

I use it in my chimney to start the next fire.

I put the partial burnt to one side and new next to it.

Start your smoke with the partial burnt and let it burn to the new stuff.

Same here. I shut all vents to snuff the fire. On my mini-WSM I pull the charcoal basket out Shake out the ash, add more if ended and light.
