They say that they are for businesses only. How does everyone here manage to get in? Have been reading numerous posts about going there to get ribs but I find it hard to believe that ALL of you have a business. Could be wr-wr-wr-damn wrong.

"*Restaurant Depot is wholesale only. To qualify for a free membership account, on your first visit you need to show a valid reseller's permit (business license) or tax-exempt certificate (for a non-profit organization) and show proof that you are authorized to purchase for said business or organization."

thanks

I believe if you are a KCBS member you can also get a membership there.

I recently wondered this and found out that after some arguing and issues between the KCBS and RD came to a conclusion.
You can get a KCBS membership and go to RD but every time you go now you have to get a one day pass.
Originally I guess you got a free membership but now people joining have to get a pass.
Same thing basically I guess just that you need to get your pass before you can shop.

Looks like were going to get one of those depots here in Denver pretty soon. I'll have to figure out how to get myself a membership.

I'm the "Procurement Leader" for our Cub Scout Pack anbd as such used their NPO number to get my membership all II needed was that number and a letter on Pack leterhead saying I was the one tasked with purchasing for events throughout the year.

Don't know about BC ,But here you can get a small buisiness license for $25.
You do have to do paper work and file taxes but since you are not really doing buisiness it's not that hard.

I own a small business so i just said that i have to feed my crews and someone suggest I go to RD. That was good enough for them!

i work with someone who does catering on the side. she sometimes gives me her pass to pick stuff up for "her". <wink wink>

Now I have an account at Restaurant depot and all I did was show them my business license and in I go. Now they have a good selection and more different levels of beef such as Colby beef and some wagyu in our RD but the prime is at a pretty good deal too. I have found many of goods there but if you compare between like Sam's they have some deals and Sam's is cheaper then RD sometimes too. I'm not sure of the quality of their meat too. To tell you the truth I really don't know what to look for in the meat I just look for color and the marbling in the beef but pork is pork to me.

I just went to the county building and applied for a business license. Cost me $10. Then when to the RD and got a membership. The business license is good for 5 years. Guess I'll have to re-apply in a couple more years.

got a business license for free from the state, got a RD account for free, pretty easy. Better than paying $50 for a Costco or Sams membership imho. Plus I like the product at RD alot better as well.

actually going today for some b-day bb's and some Lump.

I have a business license and reseller... just NO RESTAURANT DEPOT!!!
I can't wait til they put one in Nashville!!

We have one in baltimore, but it is just a bit to far to drive, I would use in gas what I save in food. So I just watch the sales

I wish we had one here. I've heard it's an awesome place. I end up getting most of my meat at Sam's Club, anyway, so it's all good. Someday...

I own a dog pooper scooper business, and they gave me a membership.  If they asked, I was going to tell them I make raw dog food and sell it to my customers for their dogs.  Looks like I did not have to get creative!

Bone In Butt - $1.59

Spares - $2.11

Chicken leg quarters - $0.59

That's what I'm talking about!

Did you need to show them a license?

This is just an observation, but make real sure you PAY the TAX on your purchases. They are tax exempt only if you are buying for a not-for-profit (scouts, church, etc. with an exemption permit) OR for resale. You have to sign the tax exemption form at time of purchase. I haven't used RD but used Sam's and GFS a lot when I was catering. I'd have to remember to tell them it was for personal use, not exempt, if I went in using my Business card.
