The game is slow enough. I say NO!
I'm not sure how baseball wants to set it up, but talk about putting the "freeze" on the arm of a hot pitcher.
I buy Twins packages. FYI.
I know, the Managers argue all kinds of calls. If it's ONLY for homerun calls and it's 90 seconds or less I might buy it.
Someday baseballs and their diamonds will have sensors. So will footballs and the gridiron. No bad spots. HR posts and Goalposts too of course.
Seems like they're asking for trouble. Look how much back and forth they've gone on this in the NFL. Replay decisions in the NFL have been shown to be wrong. I forget the percentages.
It'll be interesting. It will either work great or suck eggs. Preseason is the time to experiment.
ron gardenhire just gave a lil interview and said will be used only for home run calls and foul ball calls. being there have been two instances in the past two twins games i agreewith gardy that it be a good thing. like anything else the more accurate the call the better.
I think it will be a good thing also I agree with E, but not everyone is going to be happy...you to E when that first replay goes against your twins while my ANGELS are killing them!! lol!!
About time! Glad to see it finally here. I'd like to see it eventually get expanded to plays at the plate, pick offs, fan interference and steals. Teams should have two challenges, if they lose both they're done.
Works great in football, even though lots of folks knocked it at first.
I would rather take a few extra minutes to get the call right than worry if some short-sighted ump trying to pay back a gambling debt just screwed my team. Not saying it happens but when you see a terrible call it just makes me wonder a little.
I don't think this is a bad thing at all. It is clearly only going to be used for questionable home runs. And as a CUBS FAN I need all I can get! Seriously though I apreciate the comissioner's opinion of not wanting to corupt the nature of the game, but I think they are using the replay responsibly, and not just for a reason to throw the rythm of the pitcher off. If it aplys to everyone, it's fair.
I do agree with a previous post that it should be something that was introduced in spring training and implemented at the beginning of the season. Were coming down to some important games soon and it is a wierd time to start replay. Better late than never I guess
That is exactly right. I think its long overdue. I am a HUGE baseball fan, and this isn't the 1800's anymore. Lets get the calls right and get on with the game.
I'm feelin that Tang, I can't argue that it would have been easier to swallow had it been started at the begining of the season rather than late. But I still think that there are benefits to this decision.
