I understand why they are doing it now. It just seems like another case of the baseball comissioner REACTING to the problem instead of being PROACTIVE in making changes. Just like all the drug testing/steroid stuff. The comiss drags his heels until there is public outcry then tries to fix it.

given some of the decisions i've watched being made this year - i'd say it's about time.
every other major sport in the world has a video ref, so why not baseball
