Just curious if anyone would be interested in a thread where we can keep those that influenced us alive?! And keep their recipes going.

I know some have been on here at various times… And just want to not let their memory fade.

I really miss John@Bearcarver, Kevin @foamheart and @gary s, @chef jimmyj .

All I can think of now, but please add more if you’d like!

Not sure why this happens, but sometime the list of names with avatars wont show...confuses me.

Had a hard time finding it Dave.. but finally did! Do you do the @ when searching?! That helps… but had to really search for Dave’s avatar!

Bearcarver's Step by Step recipe thread is still in the forums, and linked in my recipe thread.

Understood John and that is awesome you done that! Just not wanting these SMF legends to drift away. Some newbies or newer folks won’t know John or the others. Why I started this thread… so they won’t be forgotten. Thanks for the reply my friend.

Yes... We have asked the Admins about them making up a "Rememberence Sticky" ... As you can see it was not feasable...

Thanks for the reply Keith! It just hit me that some of the members we have lost have absolutely fantastic recipes that should be shared in their honor. And much respect to John @chilerelleno and Rich @chopsaw for the links and mentions of the ones we no longer have.

Also, if the Admins can… they can feel free to do that and delete this thread! This is 💯 about those we all miss. I want zero credit… just miss my friends and want to honor them for their contributions!

Good idea. On most forums, bringing up old threads is grounds for a ban...

Being new here, I didn't get to interact with any of these people, but I'd say there's plenty of people who've picked up the torch.

@Bearcarver John helped me a lot when I first got here. Everyone did. That the beautiful of this site. I love the idea of finding a place for their recipes. I also know that I do not have the knowhow to do it.

I was an infant with an MES and John got me started in the right direction.
What a blessing to find SMF and connect with him and many others that have given guidance so freely.

Keith

Nothing wrong with remembering our friends in posts. A dedicated thread for it was talked about but the admins I believe didnt think it was necessary.

Keep on remembering those who have graduated to the next life.

I still make Scarbelly's injected & smoked hot wings at least once a year. The go fast during the Superbowl.
Bearcarver's recipes are my go-to for all things bacon.

How far back do we go with something like this there have been many in the past who do you think taught all those you want to remember, Do you think they knew everything when they arrived here?
Sorry it's a good thought but would be very hard to actually do without forgetting many who should be remembered
